Typically, updates to Chrome OS follow Chrome and are updated every 6 weeks. Google has finally released a new version of Chrome OS 80 today, and has introduced some new features, long after the desktop Chrome 80 went live.
In the official update log blog post, Google first introduced the features of Ambient EQ. This feature allows the device to adjust the white balance and screen temperature of the screen based on the ambient light in which the device is located. This feature is similar to the True Tone Display provided by Apple. The first device to feature the samsung Galaxy Chromebook, which debuted at the CES show in January, will go on sale next month.
Another feature is support for Netflix’s picture-in-picture feature. Chrome began supporting picture-in-picture more than a year ago, but support for Netflix is welcome because users can now use other apps while streaming content on Netflix, increasing their multitasking capabilities. The company added that no settings are required because the app automatically enters Picture-In-Picture mode when the user switches to another window.
