According to the chart above, about 90 per cent of people have a positive opinion of Microsoft, about the same as the likes of Netflix, YouTube, Google and Amazon. Apple’s popularity is significantly lower, although 80 percent still have a positive rating on facebook and Twitter, respectively.
The survey found that Microsoft is not only popular, but also trustworthy. In fact, 75 percent of respondents believed in Microsoft’s data, far more than google’s 69 percent and Facebook’s 41 percent.
Finally, 97 per cent of people have a positive or neutral view of the company’s impact, again better than Google, Amazon and Apple.
That number is important, and The Verge reports that 56 percent of respondents said that if technology companies control too much of the economy, the government should spin them off, and Microsoft seems to have avoided the hassle of such censorship.
