Earlier today, Google announced the opening of a new gaming studio in Playa Vista, California, to develop exclusive games for Stadia. To lead the new studio, Google has tapped Shannon Studstill, head of Sony’s Santa Monica studio and former executive producer of “The Gods of War.” For the Santa Monica studio, Sony unveiled a new studio leader.

Sony told IGN that they had appointed Yumi Yang, a 19-year veteran of PlayStation, as the new head of the Santa Monica studio. Sony Interactive Entertainment says Yumi Yang has a wealth of product development experience and is deeply involved in the development of many of Santa Monica’s largest productions.

Sony’s most recent work at The Santa Monica Studios is 2018’s “The God of War,” with former leader Shannon Studstill and current leader Yumi Yang both involved in the development. The studio is currently developing an unpublished game.
