The outbreak is far from over as the number of confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection continues to rise worldwide, media reported. In addition to China, three major new coronavirus hotspots – Iran, Italy and South Korea – have seen more than 11,000 cases of neo-coronavirus infection in the past few weeks – accounting for more than 10 percent of global cases.
Among them, infections in Italy have also significantly increased the number of infections in other European countries, and in the past few weeks the number of new cases in the United States has also been rising.
These grim developments prompted companies to announce their withdrawals from major exhibitions, with some announcing the termination or postponement of events, most notably mWC, the Geneva International Auto Show and Google I/O 2020. Apple’s 2020 WorldWide Developers Conference (WWDC) could be the next to announce cancellations or launches, and even the Tokyo Olympics risk cancellation. It now appears that the eruption could hamper the launch of a variety of new products this year, including Apple’s devices.
Brian Roemmele, an industry insider, said in a twitter post that at least one new product would not be released until the fall of this year for “a number of reasons.”
He also said last week in response to a tweet that WWDC 2020 could be moved to a new format because of health concerns.
Apple hasn’t updated anynews about its WWDC 2020, but the company has taken some steps to stem the spread of the new corona virus. In the first days of the outbreak, Apple closed all retail stores in mainland China and reduced capacity. It has now banned employees from the hot spots of the outbreak.
WWDC remains one of Apple’s most important events. At the event, Apple will showcase the latest software updates for all of its products. Sometimes the company takes the opportunity to launch new hardware products.
It’s unclear what Apple product Roemmele is referring to. But there are rumors that Apple will push new emergency products this month, including the iPhone 9, the new MacBook Pro and the iPad Pro. It will also release a new generation of Powerbeats wireless headphones and a new generation of Apple TV.
