Tesla Model 3 takes IIHS Top Safety Pick-Plus title again as only electric car

IIHS, known as Insurance For Highway Safety, is an important part of world safety standards and one of the most demanding autosafety rating agencies, and is therefore given authority. Recently, Tesla and the American Highway Safety Insurance Association (IIHS) announced on Twitter that Model 3 has won the 2020 IIHS Safety Top pick plus (The Top Safety Choice Plus Award).

IIHS revealed that the Model 3 was the only U.S.-made car to win the Top Safety Pick Plus award, with the only electric car to win the award.

It is reported that in order to receive the award, a car must receive a “good” rating in six crash-resistant assessments, including a driver’s side small overlap front, passenger side small overlapping front, medium overlap front, side, roof strength and head protection test.

In addition, car headlights must also be rated “good”, a measure that is particularly challenging for many carmakers.

It’s worth noting that in September last year, Model 3 was also awarded top Safety Pick by IIHS. Once again, the award proves that the Model 3 is one of the safest cars on the road today.

At present, the current sale of the Tesla Model 3 subsidy after the sale of only 2991 million yuan, NEDC continued 445 kilometers. If you don’t think the battery life is friendly enough, wait for the upcoming domestic long-range after-drive version (NEDC 668km).
