After receiving approval from the Shanghai government, Tesla will soon bring production of the Long Range model to the Shanghai Super factory,media reported. It was learned that China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has recently approved the longer range of model 3 production.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Compared to the standard version of 250 miles, this long-range range should achieve 372 miles of range. The long-term flight modification will be the second Model 3 to be produced in Shanghai, China, after the standard version.
Eventually, Tesla also plans to make model Y SUVs in China and reveal plans to design and develop electric vehicles for the Chinese market. Despite its grand plans, Tesla’s first production year there was not going well.
Shortly after Model 3 began production in China, China began responding to a large-scale outbreak of new crowns. Eventually, provincial governments ordered companies to suspend production. Sales of electric vehicles were also slow before the outbreak, according to registration data.
