Google now removes Edge’s security warning to access Chrome Web Store

Although both Chrome and the new Edge are based on the open source Chromium browser, the latter does not receive a “friendly reception” on access to certain Google services and the Chrome Web Store, alerting security alerts. After media coverage, access to the Chrome Web Store through The Edge now no longer shows warnings, but is free to add.

Now access the Chrome Web Store through The Edge, you’ll receive a message: “You can install an extension from the Chrome Web Store to Microsoft Edge, click ‘Add to Chrome’.” “It’s worth noting, however, that the Edge extension is not currently available on Chrome.

Removing the warning content means that Edge browser users can safely use the Chrome App Store extension.
