The loyal host is believed to be no stranger to former Sony executive Adam Boyes. At the 2013 E3 conference, he and Yoshida starred in an “official Playstation II Mobile game-sharing guide” that mocked Microsoft’s second-hand unfriendly policies in the early days of Xbox One, making the two console giants a hit at the start of the generation.
Adam, who has now left Sony, revealed in an interview that while he was a Sony executive from 2012 to 2016, he enjoyed his job and loved his colleagues, but at the same time he was under pressure from hosting Microsoft.
“I’ve done my best to build an incredible team and have a wonderful experience. So maybe some people think I’m going to make a mistake in the upcoming release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X(FOMO) because I’m not on the team, but that’s not the case. The pressure on me was so great that my whole person was controlled by the concept of ‘host wars’, and I didn’t think about anything else, and I’m very relieved now. “
As a former vice president of third-party relations at Sony, Adam was on the competitive front during his tenure and has contributed to Sony’s pre-generational strategy.
In 2016, Adam announced his move to Iron Galaxy Studios, where he is now CEO and active in game development. The studio is known for its cross-platform transplants, including the NS version of The Ancient Scrolls, Fortnite, OverWatch, and more.
